The pious, sentimental relation of a brother & sister the main theme of this highly emotional work. Radha lost her husband and moved into her brother Ashok’s home. Ashok endeavored to share her sorrows and make her as happy as possible. However this act of Ashok was disliked by his wife Kamala. The two innocent children. Anil (Ashok’s son) and Rajesh (Radha’s son) were more of friends than cousins. Soon Radha became aware that she is the cause of disturbing the peace of her brother’s family. One fine morning Radha decided to face the sorrows and difficulties alone, she left her dear brother’s house along with her son. But what a tragic coincidence; The day she left was the auspicious Rakshabandhan day, when a brother vows to protect his sister, but here fate takes Radha away from Ashok. Far away in a small village known as Gandhi Nagar, Radha was given shelter by Bihari Chacha. Madhu (Grand daughter of Bihari Chacha) and Rajesh soon became bosom friends. Though a spell of fourteen years passed away, neither Ashok nor Radha could forget each other even for a moment. Rajesh was now nicknamed Raju. Raju grows up to take up the job of forest supervisor from Bihari Chacha. Not only Madhu and Raju had attained their youth together but hteir love for each other had blossomed. In Gandhi Nagar there was a person Lachchu Ram. For Lachchu ram it was difficult to decide what he loved more, whisky or his beloved Rani. The shrews and cunning Dharam Das had taken over the munim’s job at Ashok’s, from his crooked father. Ashok’s son Anil, had grown up to be a help to his ailing father. On Anils suggestions Ashok purchased the Gandhi Nagar jungles. Ashok’s family shifted to the village of Gandhi Nagar. Per chance Anil & Raju become good friends after an accidental meeting. But the irony is Anil also fell for the beautiful Madhu. All family members were virtually together, yet so far. One day Kamala unbelievingly saw Radha. She was shocked and taken aback. Her whole plans seemed to be shaken up, but with the help of Dharam Das, she managed to shunt Radha out of the village. On the other side Anil and Raju had turned bitter enemies, the cause being Madhu. Lachchu ram, inspite of his intoxication heard the dirty plan of Kamala & Dharam Das. He unveiled the truth to Ashok about Radha being his sister and the treatment meted out to her. Ashok became emotionally disturbed and this poor old brother with the help crutches stepped out of the house to search for his sister. Do the brother & sister meet again, if yes, then what happened to Anil & Rajesh’s enmity? Who wins Madhu? Who sacrificed the most? Who pupils the relationship of love & emotion, Anil or Raju?
